Almeda Sperry

Almeda Sperry was born in Pennsylvania on July 13, 1879, and married in 1902, after which she lived primarily in Pittsburgh. She is known to have been an anarchist, union organizer, and sex worker. Some of her private papers can be found in the Boston University archives. In these collections are love letters between her and well-known anarchist Emma Goldman. Sperry died on September 10, 1957.
